Golf course rules at the St. Vigil Seis Golf course<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

The course must be played in accordance with the current official golf rules of the R&A and USGA, the general and specific rules of competition and the following additional course rules.<\/p>\n

Of course, the most important rule of golf is stying true to the spirit of the game. OUT OF BOUNDS & COURSE BOUNDARIES (Rule 18)<\/span><\/h3>\n

When a ball comes to rest on or beyond the road (hole 1\/hole 2), it is considered out even if it comes to rest in another area of the course that is not considered out for other holes. All out boundaries are marked by white posts, lines or white marked fences. The inside of the fence is considered out.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

PENALTY AREAS (Rule 17)<\/span><\/h3>\n

All penalty areas on the course are marked by yellow or red posts. These are considered moveable obstructions.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

PROVISIONAL BALL FOR A BALL IN A PENALTY AREA (Rule 18)<\/span><\/h3>\n

Under Rule 18.3, a player may not play a provisional ball if it is known or virtually certain that the ball has come to rest in the penalty area.<\/span><\/p>\n

Exception: If a player does not know whether their ball is in the penalty area (hole 1), they may play a provisional ball in accordance with Rule 18.3. If the ball is found in the penalty area within the 3-minute search time, the player must continue playing with their original ball, as it lies in the penalty area.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

DROPPING ZONES (Rule 14)<\/span><\/h3>\n

If the ball is within a penalty area (hole 3\/hole 4\/hole 6) or, although not found, it is known or virtually certain to have come to rest within a penalty area, the player may drop another ball with a penalty stroke within the dropping zone (hole 3 behind the ditch\/hole 4 before the tee shot at the bridge). The dropping zone is considered a relief area according to rule 14.3.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dropping zone hole 6: All balls coming to rest from the tee in the penalty area on the left \u2018must\u2019 be played from the dropping zone in front. Failure to do so will be considered as playing a ball from the wrong place (Rule 14.7a).<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 16)<\/span><\/h3>\n

All roads and paths, advertising signs, huts and fences on the course, even if they have no artificial surface, are treated as immovable obstructions for which penalty-free relief is permitted under rule 16.1.<\/span><\/p>\n

Drainage ditches that run alongside a path (e.g. hole 8) are treated as immovable obstructions in the terrain and are part of the path.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

GAME INTERRUPTION (Rule 5)><\/span><\/h3>\n

A suspension of play in a dangerous situation is announced by the sound of an air horn signalling one prolonged note. Play shall be resumed with the sound of two short notes (Rule 5.7b).<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

UNREASONABLE DELAY OF PLAY (Rule 5)<\/span><\/h3>\n

A player or group must not unreasonably delay play, either when playing a hole or between two holes. A warning or penalty strokes may result.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

HANDING IN THE SCORECARD (Rule 3.3b)<\/span><\/h3>\n

Scorecards must be handed in at the secretary\u2019s office (scoring area) immediately after the end of the round. Results which are not legible will not be accepted in stroke play (Stableford) for the hole in question and will not be counted as a result. In stroke play, this will result in disqualification. Each player is responsible for their own scorecard.<\/span><\/p>\n
